Compassionate gynecologist Theresa Benecki, MD, has been providing women expert medical care at Pineland Associates in Brick, New Jersey, for more than 35 years. She is known for her kind-hearted nature and comprehensive care, and she works hard at empowering her patients by sharing her knowledge so they can make the most informed decisions about their health. Though Dr. Benecki has delivered numerous babies in her years of practice, in 2002 she decided to concentrate on providing only gynecological services to her patients.
Dr. Benecki was born in Wilmington, Delaware. She spent her childhood years in Delaware, West Virginia, and Tokyo, Japan before attending college at the University of Delaware. She then went to Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia for her medical degree. While in school, she was drawn to OB/GYN because of the shortage of female physicians in the field. When she started her residency program at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, she was the only woman among 16 residents, and the first American-trained OB/GYN in Ocean County, New Jersey.
When she isn’t taking care of her patients, Dr. Benecki may be spending time with her husband and four children. Dr. Benecki’s interests, in addition to her husband and four children, include swimming and music. A competitive swimmer since childhood, she still swims almost daily. She was a student of classical piano, taught lessons throughout college, and still enjoys music of all types. More recently, she has taken an active role in her practice’s transition to electronic medical records, and has been enjoying the challenge.
